I always run the ASCOM Platform 6’s “ASCOM Diagnostic”. Stellarium now has a newer way to SYNC than before and I use it on my Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro. In the past I was so frustrated with not being able to connect to Stellarium and when I did, I never could get the SYNC to do right. All are installed and I even did an update last night. I have all the ASCOM drivers, EQMOD Platform and Meade’s downloaded ASCOMPlatform6SP3. I have always had an issue with trying to connect this telescope up to Stellarium. I do have all the proper cables and connectors for the two RS232 ports converted to two USB connections COM Port 4 and 10 are showing in Device Manager. Telescope slew was spot on the star and then on the object.Īll this done using the AutoStar II hand controller. I have noticed since a software update last year, that using the High Precision takes longer to find a star near your selected object. Oh, I did change the scope to do High Precision for slewing to the selected target. I also have an older Windows 8.1 (32-bit) computer that can be used. Mounted it on its equatorial wedge, balanced the scope, polar aligned it, hand controller ran the GPS, did a one-star alignment, centered all optics and camera, then slewed to my target.Ĭomputer is a 64-bit Windows 10, I have been using for several years now for astrophotography.

Last night the sky was clear, cool and a full moon on the rise.
